Frequently asked questions

Where does your data come from?

From each firm's own website, help centre and legal documents. Every value links to its source page. We don't use review sites or firm-supplied spreadsheets.

What does “not found in the pages we read” mean?

We looked on the firm's own pages and it doesn't state the rule. That doesn't mean it's allowed. Ask the firm in writing before relying on it.

What is a hidden rule?

A rule that's in the terms, FAQ or help centre, not in the headline rules, and can breach your account, void profit or delay a payout. We quote the exact wording and clause.

How often is the data checked?

Each firm page shows the date its values were checked against the firm's live pages. Dated changes go into the rule changes log and The Rule Change Weekly newsletter.

Do you recommend a prop firm?

No. We show the rules so you can decide. Nothing here is financial advice. Challenge fees are lost if you don't pass.

Do firms pay you?

Some firms pay us a commission through affiliate links and codes, each labelled "affiliate link". You pay no extra. Affiliate deals never change the data, the scores or the order of firms. See the affiliate disclosure.

What is the fine-print score?

A 0–100 score that goes down for each hidden rule (weighted by severity), each gotcha and each place where the firm's own sources disagree. The method is on the fine-print page.

Is trailing drawdown worse than static?

It can be, because with trailing drawdown the limit moves up with your profit, so profit you've made can still be lost. See the glossary for the types, and use the drawdown calculator to see your real limit.

Are payouts guaranteed?

No. Many firms' funded accounts are simulated (check each firm's terms), and payouts depend on the firm's terms and discretion. Payout figures on this site are reported by the firms and not independently verified.

Is this site for UK traders only?

No, but it's written in UK English and follows UK rules on advertising. You must be 18 or over.
